12th Annual Webby Awards Nominee! [E/J]

Hello, my name is Takehiko. I'm a web designer based on Tokyo and I belong to creative design team aguije. Now I design mainly web sites but also hope to deal with other media like prints regardless of genre. I always do my best to my works and want to be a creator who is able to supply one-stop solution to my customers. Planning, Direction, Designing, Coding, Ajax, Flash and so on.

This site WORLD ENDING is the personal place where I announce my own private works. Feel free to take some my goodies - wallpapers, icons and more!

Now, I'm delighted to announce that WORLD ENDING has been nominated for The 12th Annual Webby Awards in the Personal Web Site category.

My site is one of only five included in the category and got a chance to be able to win one or both of the Web industry's two most authoritative awards: The Webby Award and The Webby People's Voice Award.

The Webby Award is selected by International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, while The Webby People's Voice Award is selected by the online public. Voting started April 8 and runs till May 1. And each winner will be announced on May 6 and will be honored at the 12th Annual Webby Awards in New York City from June 8 to June 10.

4月8日に発表された12th Annual Webby AwardsにWORLD ENDINGがPersonal Web Siteカテゴリにノミネートされました。

今後、5月6日のThe Webby AwardおよびThe Webby People's Voice AwardのWinner発表に向けて、前者は審査員による審査を、後者は4月8日から5月1日にかけて行われる一般投票を経てWinnerの選定が進められます。

メインページの方はあまり更新頻度が高いとは言えませんが、公開当初の思いやコンセプトは今も変わらず持っていますので、今後もマイペースにプライベートワークを発表し続けていきたいと思います。

Personal Web Siteということで、おそらくデザインや技術だけの話ではなくそのサイトのパーソナリティといったものも審査基準に含まれているものと思いますが、僕は仕事にしてもプライベートにしてもそのパーソナリティの部分を一番大事にしたいと考えていますので、もしもそこを評価いただけて今回のノミネートにつながったということであれば大変光栄に思います。

一般投票は事前にメールアドレスでユーザー登録をする必要がありますが、期間中であればどなたでも行えます。もしWORLD ENDINGに貴重な一票を投じていただけるのなら非常に嬉しく思いますが、同時にみなさんが本当に良いと思うサイトに投票されることを切に願っています。

Website部門のAwardはPersonal Web Siteカテゴリ以外にも69のカテゴリがあり、カテゴリごとの審査基準で評価された洗練されたノミニーたちが軒を連ねています。僕は先程ようやくWebsite部門の全カテゴリの投票を終えたのですが、見るだけでもかなり勉強になりました。Online Film & Videoという別の部門には話題になったYouTubeの動画やバイラルムービーのカテゴリがあったり、その他にもInteractive Advertising部門やMobile部門があったりと、ちゃんと見るのは今年が初めてなのですが規模が大きいんですね。全部門・全カテゴリ見るのには相当時間がかかりそうです。。

それにしても。せっかく海外からもビジターがぼちぼちやって来るようになったものの、来ていただいてもメインページのコンテンツは少ないわブログも日本語だけで読めないっちゅーのはなんだか申し訳ない気分になってきた。メインページの改修やコンテンツを増やすことも進めていきたいですが、英語でのブログエントリーもすべきなんだろうな。。英語が不自由すぎて書くのに時間がかかるのが残念なのですが、でも海外の方とつながるチャンスが得られるならやる価値はある。とか思ってたらむらけんさんは英語ブログ立ち上げてるよ、フットワーク軽いなー。

なんて。あらたにモチベーションも上がってきたことだしとりあえず動こう。JUST DO ITってやつ。
